"God of Our Fathers" is a famous hymn strongly associated with American Christianity. The lyrics were written for the centennial of American Independence. Considered a patriotic song in America, its original musical setting was entitled, ironically, "Russian Hymn." Despite the nationalist themes, "God of Our Fathers" should be considered a hymn for any and every nation whose people have decided to love God and honor His Commandments. |
