Evolution's New Wrinkle: Proteins With 'Cruise Control' Act Like Adaptive Machines

In many ways the General Theory of Evolution is protected intellectually. One such way is interpretation of evidence. Consider the Science Daily story analyzed. See how the evolutionist scientist explains evidence that may actually be a back-breaking case against this theory on life's origins.

The story has this lede: "A team of Princeton University scientists has discovered that chains of proteins found in most living organisms act like adaptive machines, possessing the ability to control their own evolution."

It further talks of a "hidden mechanism" that can "correct any imbalance imposed on them through artificial mutations and restored the chain to working order." A chemistry professor is quoted in the story as saying this "hidden mechanism" is able "to steer the process of evolution" and it is also called a "self-correcting" and "self-regulating mechanism", comparable to a complex machine like a "car's cruise control or a home's thermostat."

And yet for some reason none of this is seen as evidence for Intelligent Design. Goes to show ideology can still taint science as easily as it did in the days of Galileo.
